Collin, a senior goalie from Pioneer High (Ann Arbor, Mich.), stopped all 27 shots he faced in a 7--0 finals win over Sweden at the men's world under-18 championships in Brno, Czech Republic, for the U.S.'s fourth straight tournament gold. Collin, who had three shutouts and allowed only four goals in five games, was named Team USA's player of the game and received the Directorate Award for best tournament goaltender.

HEATHER STEARNS

CARROLLTON, TEXAS > SOFTBALL

Heather, a senior righthander at Hebron High, led a sweep of Bell High in the Class 5A area playoffs, striking out 12 and allowing one earned run in a 4--1 win, then fanning 13 in a 2--1 two-hitter with no earned runs. Heather, who led the Hawks to their first state tournament in 2010, hit four homers in a win over Pilot Point High in March to become the first Texas girl and 14th ever to accomplish the feat. She has a 1.42 ERA and 14 home runs, through Sunday. Next year she will compete at Baylor.

PETER WILLIAMSON

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. > GOLF

Williamson, a senior at Dartmouth, won his second straight individual Ivy League championship, and the third of his career, by eight strokes with an even-par 213 in three rounds at the Galloway (N.J.) National Golf Club. He is just the second golfer in Ivy history to win the event three times. Williamson, ranked 33rd among college men in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, was named the conference player of the year for the third time and All-Ivy for the fourth straight season.
