Scouting Reports

NASCAR's best are already looking to 2010. Here's what to watch for when the green flag comes down

11 BRIAN VICKERS

2009 SEASON 12th place, 1 win, 13 top 10s

THE LOWDOWN

Last year was a validation for Vickers, who won his second race and made the Chase. His playoff showing, however, was miserable (average finish 23.7), and he still has work to do if he wants to be a contender.

12 MATT KENSETH

2009 SEASON 14th place, 2 wins, 12 top 10s

THE LOWDOWN

Kenseth won the first two races of 2009 but soon bottomed out, missing the Chase for the first time. With nothing to lose, he and crew chief Drew Blickensderfer tinkered with setups in the postseason, earning three top fives. If they can build on that, a Chase return is likely.

13 GREG BIFFLE

2009 SEASON 7th place, 0 wins, 16 top 10s
