PLAYERS
Biography: Four-year starter that spent most of his career at left tackle. Missed the second half of his senior season with an injury
to his shoulder. Also missed three games during his junior season with a similar ailment.
Positives: One-time highly rated tackle who's been pushed down draft boards due to injury. Plays smart football, keeps his head on a swivel and remains alert throughout the action. Works to bend his knees, keeps his feet moving and stays square. Gets his hands into opponents and seals them from the action. Is patient and makes good use of angles and body positioning. Possesses terrific size and is large enough to engulf opponents. Negatives: Lacks classic footwork sliding out off the edge. Does not possess the overwhelming power necessary to finish blocks. Analysis: Datko is a mechanically sound blocker with a good head for the game, but he?s been bothered the past two seasons by persistent shoulder injuries. Lining up on the weak side for Florida State, he's better suited for right tackle in the NFL. He must improve his run blocking and get back to full health to have any chance of a career at the next level. Projection: 5th
