  Following a knee-on-knee collision at the world hockey championships, Staal had to be helped off the ice, the Canadian Press reports.

  At first glance, this doesn't look good, as Staal, who clutched his right knee in pain afterward, was not able to put any weight on the leg.

Wednesday, May 15

• 05/15/13 - 4:53PM ETMikael Samuelsson : (Shoulder) Out For Wednesday's Game 1

  Samuelsson (shoulder) will not play in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Blackhawks, ESPN Chicago reports.

  Although Samuelsson missed most of the regular season due to injury, he managed to tally two points over five games in the first round series against Anaheim. Once healthy, he'll have a chance at working his way back into the Red Wings' line rotations.

• 05/15/13 - 4:23PM ETTyler Bozak : (Biceps) Will Not Need Surgery

  Bozak (biceps) won't require surgery, the Toronto Sun reports.

  Bozak was sidelined for the final two games of the first-round series with the Bruins after injuring the biceps during a faceoff in Game 5. He's expected to require four weeks of recovery time before resuming offseason workouts.

Monday, May 13

• 05/13/13 - 6:50PM ETColin Wilson : (Shoulder) Out 4-to-6 Months

  Wilson is expected to miss 4-6 months after undergoing stabilization surgery on his left shoulder last week, according to Reuters.

  Wilson had 19 points in 25 games before undergoing a similar procedure - on his right shoulder - in April. Given the new timeframe for his expected recovery, it's questionable whether he will be available for the start of the season come October.

• 05/13/13 - 3:09PM ETMartin Erat : (Arm) Sitting Monday

  Erat (arm) won't play Monday against the Rangers, the Winnipeg Sun's Ken Wiebe reports.

  Neither will Brooks Laich, as the Caps try to advance to the second round of the playoffs Monday, with their series with the Rangers currently deadlocked at three games apiece.

• 05/13/13 - 3:06PM ETAndrew Ference : (Undisclosed) Out Monday

  Ference (unspecified injury) will not play in Monday's Game 7 against the Maple Leafs.

  As a result, Dougie Hamilton is in line to continue to fill in for Ference, who we'll consider him day-to-day in the absence of detailed information regarding his injury.

  Powe (undisclosed) will miss Game 7 against the Capitals on Monday, the Bergen Record reports.

  Powe hasn't played since Game 3 with what is suspected to be a concussion, so rookie Chris Kreider will remain in the Rangers lineup Monday against the Caps.

• 05/13/13 - 1:09PM ETRyane Clowe : (Undisclosed) Out For Monday's Game 7

  Clowe (undisclosed) will miss Game 7 against the Capitals on Monday, the Bergen Record reports.

  Clowe is suspected to have suffered a concussion in Game 5, and also missed Game 6 on Sunday. Rookie Chris Kreider will be in the lineup again with both Clowe and Darroll Powe sitting out.
