03/11/10 - 6:05PM ETDerrick Rose
: Leaves Game With Sprained Left Wrist
- Rose (wrist) has been diagnosed with a sprained left wrist and will not return to Thursday's game against the Magic.
- Rose injured the wrist after colliding with Dwight Howard while going in for a layup. X-rays were taken that came back negative. He'll be day-to-day going forward, and his status for Friday's game against the Heat is unknown at this time. Rose played all of the first quarter before leaving the game and finished with just three points and two assists.

03/11/10 - 12:39PM ETMonta Ellis
: (Back) Expected to Play Thursday
- Ellis (back) participated in the Warriors' shootaround Thursday and will play against Portland, Comcast Sportsnet reporter Matt Steinmetz reports.
- Ellis hasn't played since February 25th, but he has obviously proven himself as a must-start. Expectations for this game should be relatively modest, though Ellis typically performs well in his first games back from injury.

03/10/10 - 4:35PM ETMonta Ellis
: Could Return Thursday
- Ellis is leaning towards returning Thursday against the Blazers, but a final decision won't be made until the team sees how his back responds to Wednesday's practice, Marcus Thompson of Contra Costa Times reports.
- Ellis has slowly been closing in on a return, but it looks like his status won't be known until after Thursday's shootaround.
-
- Milicic will start in place of the suspended Ryan Hollins Wednesday against the Nuggets, Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
- Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis went with Milicic over Kevin Love for the second straight suspension --- Milicic had started in place of the suspended Al Jefferson last week. Hollins is only going to be out Wednesday and Friday, so Darko's value will likely be short lived.
-
- As expected, Petro will start at center Wednesday against the Timberwolves, Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post reports.
- He's seeing playing time in place of the injured Kenyon Martin (knee). There's not much to get excited about with Petro's game, but he did manage to snag 10 boards in his first start. Deep leagues may want to consider for help on the glass but expect inconsistency.
-
- Wright will start at small forward Wednesday night in place of the injured Peja Stojakovic (abdomen), Hornets radio announcer Sean Kelly reports.
- Stojakovic is out for the next two weeks, so this is a big opportunity for Wright to make his case for more playing time. The third-year small forward is averaging just 10 minutes per game this season. No need to rush to the waivers and grab him, but deep leagues will want to keep an eye on Wright and see how he handles the promotion.
-
- Stuckey (head) expects to be cleared for a return to practice soon, the Pistons' official site reports.
- Stuckey still hasn't talked with Pistons strength and conditioning coach Arnie Kander, but the young guard doesn't expect to be sidelined much longer now that he's been cleared to exercise. There's still no timetable for Stuckey's return, but most of the news pouring out the past couple days has been positive. Hopefully he's back on the court soon.
-
03/10/10 - 3:35PM ETBen Wallace
: (Knee) Inactive Wednesday
- Wallace (knee) will sit out Wednesday's game against the Jazz, the Pistons' official site reports.
- Wednesday will mark Big Ben's fourth straight missed game. Pistons coach John Kuester originally expected his veteran big man to miss at least three games, so hopefully Wallace is nearing a return. Look for Jason Maxiell to continue filling in as starting center.
-
- As expected, Lawson will miss Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, the Denver Post reports.
- Lawson said his shoulder is improving and he's now "day-to-day." There's a slight possibility Lawson could make a return Friday against the Hornets, but best bet has him sitting out a couple more games. Keep him on your bench.
-
- Barbosa, who's expected to return from a wrist injury Friday against the Lakers, could see limited minutes in his return to the court, the Arizona Republic reports.
- The Suns have Steve Nash, Jason Richardson and Goran Dragic taking up a lot of the playing time in the backcourt, so Barbosa could struggle to see the 25+ minutes he has throughout his career. With limited minutes expected, it's hard to envision Barbosa improving on the 10.6 scoring average he has posted through 29 games this season.
-
- Hollins has been suspended two games for striking DeShawn Stevenson and Dirk Nowitzki in Monday's loss to the Mavericks, Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
- Hollins has actually put up decent production this month, averaging 14 points and seven boards in the past three games. Look for Kevin Love or Darko Milicic to take over the starting center position while Hollins is serving his suspension on Wednesday and Friday.
-
- Jamison will be a game-time decision for Friday's game against the 76ers, the Associated Press reports.
- Fortunately, Jamison avoided serious injury on Monday night, but he has a cyst in the knee that periodically fills with fluid and could prevent him from playing against Philadelphia. If he does miss the game, he expects to return Sunday against Boston, but daily leaguers will have to check back closer to game time on Friday to learn more about his status.
-
03/10/10 - 12:54PM ETLuol Deng
: (Calf) Will Miss at Least Two Games
- Deng (calf) will miss at least two games, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
- The earliest return would be Tuesday's game against Memphis, but there's not an especially optimistic tone regarding that possibility at the moment, either. The technical prognosis given by coach Vinny Del Negro was "a while."
-
03/10/10 - 9:30AM ETChris Paul
: (Knee) Still 2 Weeks Away
- Paul (knee) is still at least two weeks away from returning, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
- Paul's original timetable was four to six weeks, but he's been out since February 4 and still has not been cleared to begin running. He remains determined to play again this season ("Even if it's one game, I'm going to play"), but with the Hornets four and a half games out of the final playoff spot and potentially looking at eight-plus more games without Paul, you have to wonder if shutting him down for the rest of the season is an option if they fall out of the race completely. Paul disagrees with that line of thinking, but the decision may not be solely up to him. In any case, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing Paul until late this month at the earliest.
-
03/10/10 - 8:45AM ETYi Jianlian
: (Ankle) Out 7-10 Days
- Coach Kiki Vanderweghe expects Yi to miss the next 7-to-10 days with a high ankle sprain, according the USA Today.
- Yi will be re-evaluated again in a few days - in the meantime, Josh Boone and Kris Humphries stand to benefit and should see extended playing time.
-
- Stojakovic will miss a minimum of two weeks with a lower abdominal strain, the Hornets' official site reports.
- Stojakovic left Monday's game against the Warriors with what was originally termed a right groin strain. A two-week timetable would keep him out of New Orleans' next nine games. With Stojakovic out, James Posey and possibly Morris Peterson stand to benefit.
-
03/10/10 - 7:08AM ETLuol Deng
: Strains Calf, Set for MRI
- Deng left the Bulls' 132-108 loss to the Jazz Tuesday in the third quarter with a right calf strain and will have an MRI Wednesday, the Arlington Daily Herald reports
- The Bulls, whose losing streak hit five Tuesday and are now ninth in Eastern Conference, can ill-afford to lose Demg for an extended period of time with Joakim Noah still out with and Taj Gibson playing through plantar fasciitis.
-
03/10/10 - 5:46AM ETZach Randolph
: (Back) Expected to Play Wednesday
- Randolph (back) should return to the Grizzlies' starting lineup Wednesday, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
- He was a late scratch Monday because of a sore lower back, but apparently it has not lingered. Make sure he is active in leagues with daily transactions.
Tuesday, March 9
-
- Ariza (hip) has been cleared to play Tuesday night, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.
- With Kevin Martin playing so well in Ariza's place, we expect to see Ariza play some small forward in addition to any minutes he gets at shooting guard.
-
- Stuckey (head) attended Tuesday's practice but did not participate, the Detroit News reports.
- Stuckey reported feeling better and doctors have not found anything wrong with him after he collapsed last Friday.
-
- Celtics coach Doc Rivers confirmed that Finley will be in uniform and active Tuesday night against the Bucks, the Boston Globe reports.
- Rivers added that he wasn't sure how much playing time he'll give to Finley.
-
- Camby (ankle) will start Tuesday's game against the Kings, Brian T. Smith of the Columbian reports.
- Camby missed Sunday's game against the Nuggets, but he'll return in action on Tuesday. Make sure you have Camby back in your lineup.
-
- Marbury is demanding an additional $2 million to return to Shanxi of the Chinese Basketball Association next season, WEEI Boston reports.
- Marbury signed a $25,000-per-month contract in January, so he's looking for a pretty steep raise. Marbury averaged 23.1 points, 9.4 assists, and 6.2 rebounds for Shanxi this season.
-
- An MRI taken on Jamison's left knee revealed no serious injuries, NBA.com reports.
- Jamison, who left Monday's game against the Spurs, will continue receiving daily treatments. Despite the soreness in his knee, Jamison plans to play in Friday's game against the 76ers.
-
- Turkoglu (ankle) was a full participant in Monday's practice and will be in the lineup Tuesday, the Toronto Sun reports.
- "Normally we wouldnÂt scrimmage after a game with a back-to-back coming up but we had to," head coach Jay Triano said. "We had to get (Hedo) and Chris [Bosh] back into a rhythm. Hedo looked better and so did Chris but we have to get our two top guys back to 100%." Turkoglu hasn't been the most reliable fantasy player this season, but if you need him Tuesday he'll be in the lineup.
